Who would have thought sisterhood would be a reason to join Direct Sales? Not me. I was wrong…so completely wrong.
I joined Plunder in May 2016. I was looking for something to fill a gap, a void that was left in my soul when my mom passed the previous Autumn. I happened upon Plunder, looked it up and I joined…it really was that quick.
I went to the website, saw the jewelry and was hooked. I have always loved jewelry, mostly costume cause let’s face it, a long-term commitment to something material is not my jam. I like to change it up.
A year later, I still thought I joined for the money, beneficial yes, but that was not the reason. My “why” kept changing and evolving. In a conversation with Shannon last spring, she told me, “You are a different person from when you joined.” She was right. I was guarded and unconfident. “You needed the sisterhood.” An AH-HA moment for sure.
Our Sisterhood is what I Needed
I believe what happened was a God’s wink. I developed close friendships and relationships with women and others through this business—some I’ve met and some I have yet to meet in person. Women that prayed with and for me, asked my advice and assistance, helped me with my business and requested my help with theirs, supported and lifted me up no matter the circumstance and without expectations.
I am nurtured in my creativity, I lead and I follow. I get to design and create memorable pieces for people celebrating a child’s sport, their art work, a wedding and even death. Preserving memories…and this fills my heart.
Webster defines sisterhood as “the solidarity of women based on shared conditions, experiences or concerns,” but that’s too simple. This is sisterhood: “Behind every successful woman is a Tribe of successful women who have her back.”
I can honestly say I have never been a part of a business, a group, or anything that is like this little jewelry company called Plunder. It is a perfect fit for who I am, and what I hope to share with others.
